  1. New days are dawning

Things are really looking up these days.  I met a really nice gentleman at a Grief Counciling site... He is from North Carolina and we actually got to meet.  He drove all the way out here to Linden just to meet me... and we have become fast friends since then.    He is a dedicated Christian and we share the same core values and beliefs.  He was welcomed by my churh family, and he said he loved where I attended church and never felt so welcome.  He...
  2. The lonliness of loss...

It's been awhile since I have come in here... my heart is so broken but my spirit still is in tact... although a bit bruised.... However, healing is coming directly from my personal relationship with the Lord..
I received this in an email this am... and it fits as perfectly as a pair of custom made designer shoes...

The loneliness of loss—do you feel it? This can be one of the most painful emotions in grieving. "There's no way I'll ever be the same. It just can't be. I'm so lonely....
  3. Ain't that the truth !!!!

"How much courage must it have taken for Jesus to travel into Jerusalem knowing His death, for our sake, was to come about in that city? Do we, in turn, have the courage to show the world how much a relationship with Him means to us and spread the Word of His love to others? So little is asked of us in relation to how much was given."

Have a fantastic day today my friends!

  4. Here I am Lord..... use me today...

So much to do... paperwork, trying to figure out what direction to take next.  This is much more difficult than I ever imagined.   I feel Christ with me at every moment of my day and I lean heavily upon His strength that He gives of so freely.  I am keeping my heart and mind focused on Christ, who is alive and working in my life every moment.  He is showing me how to take this horrible aching root of my grief and how to lift it high  in praise and thanksgiving for...
  5. The root of our grief

    02/05/11 16:50:17 | 0 Comments

(I received an email that gave me pause for thought… Although I made changes as the Spirit moved me to do… ) It is our tears of grief that can become the waters of new life. Let us keep our hearts focused on He who is Altogether Good and Lovely as we lift this aching root of our grief high in praise and thanksgiving. In Grace and Beauty all His own, he creates a tree of life out of a root of grief. Let us, tear by tear transform it into a source of inspiration, freedom...
  6. Thank you Lord for the strength....

I awake and reach and find that empty place where my love once placed his head. Oh how empty that place is, matched by my hollow, empty feeling inside. So many of our  dreams have fled, hope has died.  My existence would have  no reason in this world, if it were not for Christ.

He was my heart, my love, my sharer of...
  7. ONLY GOD KNOWS....

    Only God Knows .............

He takes those we love away from us,
    We don't really understand why.
We can only know the ache within our heart
Starting even before his soul is with Jesus in the sky.

He chooses them as beautiful lilies of the field..
Some prepared to be in His presence,
Some that have refused to Him yield.
He'll choose those that believe and prepared & leave alone the...
  8. I feel privileged to be among those called.

"There are times we may feel unworthy to stand before God and ask of Him.  But, it is God Himself who calls us before Him regardless of our past and the things we might have done that make us feel the way we do.  God's grace extends to all.  The Father is awaiting His prodigal child - the shepherd is looking for His sheep. You are being called!"
  9. Quiting is not an option

I went to Lady's Bluff for a short hike not too long ago.  It's a short hiking trail, at just about 3 miles..., and only a few rather steep places that tend to be a bit challenging...  At one particularly slipperly slope, I took a tumble and  got bruised up some, and yes it sure did  hurt... And I thought for a few moments that maybe I should turn back...  give up ..... but as I sat there on the ground, I just listened to the quiet in the forest...I was surrounded by...

Count your blessings. Once you realize how valuable you are and how much you have going for you, the smiles will return, the sun will break out, the music will play, and you will finally be able to move forward the life that God intended for you with grace, strength, courage, and confidence. ~ Og Mandino

"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle."
Plato

And so I say to those I have been unkind to, I am sorry, and to those that  have been unkind to me, I forgive you.

Lean your head upon my chest. I know well your weariness, and every burden I will lift. Don't bury your griefs - offer them up to Me. You will relieve your soul of much strain if you can lay every care in My hand. Don't cling to trouble - turn it over Me. In doing so you will free Me to work it out. Know you are loved by the Creator of the Universe. May you find peace in that glorious news!

I AM AND HE IS !!

We're taught to Forgive & Forget, but how do you forgive those that are not sorry? If you're Christian you will forgive regardless of who or why or what.  But forgetting leaves you open to being chewed upon again, so keep your eyes open, ears tuned in and make sure you trust God to watch your back.
Learn to get past it, let it go and give it over to God.

Just so some of you can put a face to a name... here I am, old, wrinkled, and overweight, but I still have a lot to smile about.  I am a child of God and that in of itself is more than I deserve..
